How I found my dream car: The story of renting, testing and buying

For a long period of time I was thinking about how I should buy a car and I couldn't decide... I searched for my dream car for a long time, and it turned out that the road to it was full of surprises, laughter and of course, good kilometers. Is there anything better than the feeling when you get into the car and feel that it is the one ? And it all starts with a simple rental.

As someone who isn't the best at making quick decisions (what are you going to do, we women are sometimes 😂 complicated), I decided to test drive a few cars before I made the decision to buy. Perfect for city driving, but when I started on the Montenegrin serpentines, I realized that I still need something more, stronger, a real man 😀 The city driving in the Golf through Podgorica was pleasant, but as soon as I got on the highway towards Kotor, the need for a little more power. The Golf is great for everyday driving, but it wasn't enough for our curves and uphills.

Round two: Audi A4

Then I decided on the Audi A4. Luxurious, elegant, with all the bells and whistles. I sat in it and felt like I was in a movie scene. But when I saw how much fuel it was consuming, I realized that I would have to sell a kidney to maintain it. Audi is like that hot guy on the beach – great looking, but not really for a long term relationship.

Driving the Audi through Tara Canyon was fantastic, but every time I stopped at a gas station, I felt my wallet getting thinner. If you are a lover of luxury and have no problem with spending, Audi is an excellent choice. But for me, who is practical and likes to save wherever I can, it just wasn't it.

Third time: Toyota Yaris Cross 

And then the moment of truth came - Toyota.. I immediately felt like I was in my living room, only with wheels. Spacious, comfortable, economical, and with four-wheel drive - perfect for our Montenegrin roads. Driving through Kotor, Durmitor and the Tara canyon was like being in an SUV commercial. It simply had everything I needed: reliability, space and style.

The first thing I noticed was the comfort. I sat as if on a throne, and the luggage space was more than enough for my weekly trips to the sea. And when I set off on the mountain roads, I realized that it was the right choice for our conditions. It didn't struggle on the hills, and the ride was smooth and stress-free.

Reliable and practical - like a good friend who will always be there for you. True, he didn't let me down on any of the uphills. If you have ever driven Montenegrin roads, you know how important it is. Also economical, which was a big plus for me. Fuel consumption was affordable and maintenance was not complicated. 

In the end, when I put it all together, I realized which car really suits me: I took the red one 😂 (now the male part of the population would tell women that only color matters) They would probably applaud now if I had chosen a Volvo (sure and good vehicle) but I still decided on a Toyota and a red one 😂
