If you plan to drive through mountainous areas or roads covered in snow and ice, vehicles with four-wheel drive (4x4) provide additional safety and better control in demanding conditions. For urban and shorter distances, standard drive with good winter tires is often sufficient.

Safety and Vehicle Preparation

Before taking over the vehicle, check if it is equipped with quality winter tires and if they are in good condition. Winter tires are not optional - they are necessary for safe driving, as they provide better grip on snow and ice, shorter braking distance, and stability on the road.

Low temperatures can affect the battery, so it is useful to check the battery status, antifreeze, and windshield washer fluids. Even small preparations can make a big difference, especially on longer journeys.

Spectacular New Year's Program

BAR prepares a multi-day New Year's Eve celebration full of fun and music – from December 29th to January 2nd, with daily and evening concerts by popular regional performers. The program is rich and diverse, and admission is usually free at main squares and promenades. 

The recently announced program is expected to feature performances by Aleksandra Prijović, Nataša Bekvalac, Zdravko Čolić, Aca Pejović and other popular names.

The atmosphere is of a warm Mediterranean type: a large stage on the plateau in front of the Topolica Sports Hall, music for all ages, lights, and good vibes with a view of the sea. 

Near the Topolica Sports Hall in Bar, parking is available in front of and around the hall, as well as public parking in the surrounding streets, near the Health Center, in the marina area, behind the "Niko Rolović" Gymnasium, near the Madžarica stadium, and in the city center. During major events, it is recommended to arrive early as parking spaces fill up quickly.

Sometimes additional parking spaces are provided near the Madžarica stadium, behind the "Niko Rolović" Gymnasium, or near the Municipality, so it's worth walking a few minutes if those closer are full. 

 Budva – seven-day spectacular celebration

Budva is traditionally the most visited destination for New Year's Eve on the Montenegrin coast. The program lasts around seven days (Dec 29 - Jan 4), featuring numerous concerts, daily events, and fireworks.

 The main New Year's Eve (Dec 31) is filled with performances by Teodora Šćepanović, Emina Jahović, and Aca Pejović, but a series of events are also organized during the holiday days. 

 In addition to concerts, there are often fireworks above the Old Town and Slovenska Beach, numerous parties in clubs, as well as thematic New Year's programs for all generations. In Budva, near concert venues like Top Hill and other outdoor events, you can easily leave your car at one of the city parking lots such as TQ Plaza Parking Budva, Parking For Everyone, or Parking lot, Mediteranska, as well as other public and private parking areas in the center. Budva has plenty of parking spaces spread throughout the city

Tivat – More Glamorous and Elegant New Year's Eve

Tivat in Porto Montenegro and on the main promenade organizes New Year's concerts and DJ performances from December 30th to January 2nd. In addition to classic concert events, Tivat also offers a winter bazaar, gastronomic delights, and an elegant holiday atmosphere. This is a great option if you want a mix of seaside romance, luxurious ambiance, and a relaxed atmosphere for New Year's Eve.

In Tivat, near major events and concerts, public parking is available in the city center, near Porto Montenegro, as well as parking areas along the main city roads. 

 Kotor – Traditional Holiday Festival

Kotor organizes the event Kotor Winter Fest, a major winter festival held in Kotor at the end of November, December, and January, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of holiday atmosphere with lights, music, concerts, DJ sets, choir and vocal performances at various locations such as the city waterfront and the Piazza of the Clock Tower. 

During the 64 days of the festival, you can enjoy a variety of music programs and spectacles, including New Year's Eve celebrations with performances by well-known regional artists and DJs, making it one of the most exciting winter events in Montenegro. Numerous performers and programs take place along the old city waterfront and the main square, adding a special charm to the holiday season as tradition and modern entertainment blend beautifully. 

Public parking spaces during the Winter Fest in Kotor are available near the Port of Kotor, Kamelija Shopping Center, as well as parking areas along the main road and in surrounding streets outside the Old Town. During major events, it is recommended to arrive early or use the parking lot at Kamelija due to its larger capacity.
